purpose driven

At JUNKX, we’re driven by a simple truth: the ocean is under threat — and business as usual isn’t going to save it.

To restore nature’s balance, we believe brands must stop reacting — and start leading. That’s why JUNKX isn’t just another underwear company. We’re an ocean-first movement challenging an industry built on profit-first thinking and environmental neglect.

Every decision we make puts ocean health at the center.

Our boxer briefs are ethically made in Canada using ECONYL® — a luxurious Italian fabric made from regenerated ghost nets. They're designed to perform, built to last, and created with purpose.

But impact doesn’t stop at the product.

We commit 5% of profits to direct-action ocean conservation — supporting projects that remove ghost nets, restore marine habitats, and protect the ecosystems we all depend on.

From reef to reef, brief by brief, JUNKX is empowering a new wave of ocean advocates — people who wear their values and fight for the wild places they love.

Join us. We're the change.

MEET THE FOUNDER

“I've been drawn to the ocean for as long as I can remember. I first went scuba diving at 12 and never really came back up. The water felt like home.
For most of my life, I thought I knew how to protect it—say no to straws, skip the plastic bag, 'do my part'. But that illusion was shattered the day I learned about ghost nets.
As a self-proclaimed ocean advocate, I felt blindsided.
It didn’t sit right.
So I started digging, asking questions. Wondering: What if something good could come from all this?
That question turned into a mission.
And that mission became JUNKX.
That’s where it started. Not with a business plan, but with a desire to do something—anything—that could help turn the tide on the ghost net crisis.”

Things You Might Be Wondering
Why is JUNKX more expensive than the average pair?
We’re not here to compete on price—we’re here to raise the bar. Using regenerated materials, local production, and giving back isn’t the cheapest route. But it’s the right one. We’re a small brand doing things differently because the industry needs to change. If enough of us back that shift, prices come down. That’s how we move from niche to norm. When you buy JUNKX, you’re not just buying underwear—you’re backing a better future for the planet and the industry.
What are ghost nets, anyway?
Ghost nets are abandoned fishing nets left to drift in the ocean. They’re the single deadliest form of plastic pollution as they trap marine life, damage reefs, and pollute ecosystems. We help fund their rescue and give them a second life—as your underwear.
What's the fabric like?
Our fabric is feather-light, breathable, and silky-soft with 4-way stretch for a perfect fit. It’s moisture-wicking, ultra quick-dry, and made from recycled materials—designed to keep up, no matter where the adventure takes you.
